All The Way Around....Georgian Bay

This past weekend found the Wee and I covering some pretty incredible parts of Ontario. Friday it was up the Bruce Peninsula to Tombermory to catch the Chi-Cheemaun to Manitoulin Island. From there to Sudbury, to North Bay to as far as New Liskeard and back. In total somewhere over 1400kms. Despite weather that had me thinking of a big fireplace and a nice Thanksgiving dinner the trip was great. I’m admittedly a little sore today, two days after, but at the same time I miss it. I miss the road, the people I met and most of all the things I’ve seen. If you’ve never crossed Manitoulin I recommend it.

There are many stories to come from this adventure and I’m going to need a bit of time to sort them out in my mind. I don’t know what was best. The bright young kid who told me everything about every motorcycle in line to board the boat. The lively fisherman from Ohio whose laugh could be heard for miles. The two brothers out on a four-day motorcycle trip to Lake Superior. The twists and turns of Manitoulin, the sun on the rocks, the postcard like scenes scattered all throughout or more. Maybe the B&B in Latchford where breakfast was served at the gas station. It could have been tea and berry pie with Trevor from Calgary. He was riding from his home to Newfoundland and back to raise money for Cancer Research. Amazing man. Check out Trevor's site www.thereandbackcanada.com

There’s a lot to this trip and I’ll try and sort it out and share a little. In the meantime I’ve become distracted by the calling of Vancouver. I’ve seen a lot of the USA but not much of my country. Vancouver and back by motorcycle. That’s going to require some thought.
