Golden Time

Got in an hour or so between the rains last night. As a mere M1 I also have to be mindful of the sun and it’s position relative to the horizon.  Can’t ride after dark for about three more weeks.  I was driven out by two days of no motorcycle and a new pair of real riding pants.  The overcast early evening gave way to what my friend Carl refers to as “GOLDEN TIME” That time when the sun’s light is just that, golden.  I cut across Aurora Road, up Woodbine Avenue to Green Lane and back down Leslie.  It was perfect. Good shifts, good corners, few cars and great light.  It was another one of those what I’m starting to refer to as “This is why…” moments. Simply explained, moments where I feel good on the machine and all the elements are in harmony. This is why I did this. This is how I’d imagined it would be and it’s good.  Incredible contrasts between setting sun and the dark clouds behind me to the south.  Golden time indeed and me without a camera.  As my friend Ken says…. experience…. not documentation.  Maybe next time I’ll try and document it. You really should have seen it.
